Pride 10: Return of the Warriors

In what was called “the best Pride event yet” by English commentators Bas Rutten and Stephen Quadros, Pride 10 kicked off in August of 2000 and featured some of the most memorable fights in the organization’s history. In addition to a legendary headlining battle between Kazushi Sakuraba and Renzo Gracie in which Sakuraba claimed his third Gracie scalp, the event featured a war between Wanderlei Silva and Guy Mezger as well as a high profile battle between Ken Shamrock and Kazuyuki Fujita.

Although Gracie was defeated in the main event, he has stated on multiple occasions that his fight against Sakuraba was the most memorable of his career, and the one that he was most proud of, as he refused to tap out to a tight Kimura Lock that ended up dislocating his elbow.
